Shurgard becomes partner of Off Road Kids foundation
About Off Road Kids foundation
Off Road Kids is a German non-profit organisation that runs a street social work system to prevent homeless young people from becoming street children.
With branches in Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Frankfurt and Hamburg the foundation offers them online support and nationwide accommodation.
Why the foundation was launched
Since 1993 Off Road Kids has been helping children and young adults in Germany, where homelessness has always been high:
- there are up to 2.500 runaways every year,
- over 300 children from the age of 12 years end up living on the street,
- the total amount older than 18 years being even higher.
The foundation helps around 60 children and young adults a month. Since they were founded, over 6.000 children and young adults have found their way back to society or were accompanied to their families.
How Shurgard supports Off Road Kids
- Shurgard donated € 5000 in 2020 and is planning to make another donation in 2021.
- In addition, we will provide free storage space in different locations in Germany to store furniture and other essentials.
