• How much space do I need to store my archives?
  Our size calculator is an easy tool to figure out how much space you need to store your archives. Also, have a look at our other size help tools. Or call one of our storage experts and we'll gladly help you figure out the right storage size. 
• Is there a cancellation fee if I don’t need the storage unit I reserved?
  No, you can always change the type or size of the reserved storage unit, or you can cancel your reservation for free. We don’t charge a cancellation fee. Call our staff and we will be happy to help you.
• Do I need to pay a deposit when renting a storage unit at Shurgard?
  No, unlike other self-storage providers, Shurgard never asks for a deposit when you rent a storage unit with us.
• Does Shurgard have direct access storage units?
  Yes, all our storage locations in Belgium have direct access units. You can drive your vehicle directly to the door of your storage unit to make loading and unloading easy.
• How do I reach Shurgard Antwerp Centre by car?
  From the Antwerp ring road, take the Borgerhout exit and pass under the bridge. Our facility is clearly visible at 500 m. after the bridge.
• Are there any other costs I need to pay when renting a storage unit at Shurgard?
  Below are the only extra costs you may need to pay:

  • One-off admin fee of € 20: this amount is only applicable when you sign your first contract with us. Returning customers don't need to pay this fee.
  • Insurance: for your own protection, you’ll need to get goods coverage for the belongings that you store with us. You can opt for a customised goods coverage policy starting at € 16 per month.
  • Lock: to guarantee no one else can access your storage unit, you will need to buy a lock designed to fit a Shurgard storage unit at € 14,90. You can re-use this lock when you rent another storage unit at any Shurgard facility.
• What is a locker and can I rent one at Shurgard Antwerp Centre?
  Lockers are smaller storage units, at about 1 metre high and range in surface area from 0.5 to 1.5 m². Lockers are ideal for storing a few moving boxes, suitcases or your spare tyres. They are available at our Antwerp Centre location.
• Is there a minimum rental period?
  You can rent your storage unit for an initial period of one month. After this period, your contract will automatically be renewed on a monthly basis.
• Do I need to pay when reserving a storage unit?
  No, you only start paying when you sign your rental contract.
• Can I combine the € 1 first month’s rent with the online special offer?
  Yes, our € 1 first month offer can be combined with our online special. This offer is valid for new customers and on selected storage units only.
• Is Shurgard Antwerp Centre easily accessible by public transport?
  • Yes, buses 20 and 21 stop near our premises.
  • The tram-11 stop is within 2 minutes' walking distance.
  • The Plantin stop of trams 2, 9, and 15 is within 10 minutes' walking distance.
• What is included in the rental price of my storage unit?
  The price of your unit includes:

• How secure is my storage unit at Shurgard?

• Can I store my winter/summer tyres at Shurgard Antwerp Centre?
  Yes, at Shurgard Antwerp Centre you can rent a locker or a 1 m² storage unit - ideal for storing your spare set of tyres at a reasonable price.
• Why should I choose an upstairs storage unit?

  Upstairs storage units are often cheaper than those on the ground floor of the same size, so choose these if you don’t have a lot of bulky or heavy stuff to store, or if you don’t have to frequently move stuff in and out of your unit.

  At Shurgard you can still conveniently access your upstairs storage unit with the help of our spacious lifts and trolleys.

• What can I store at Shurgard?
  Pretty much anything for personal and business reasons, such as furniture, clothes, sports equipment, archives and stock. There is a list of prohibited items in our Terms and Conditions. They include food and illegal, explosive, or hazardous materials.
• Who can access my storage unit?
  You are the only person who can access your storage unit. You may also authorise someone else to access your unit on your behalf.
