Exceptional experience from start to finish. Having used other storage companies previously, I can genuinely say Shurgard Bolton is on another level.
The facility itself is brand new, spotless, secure and extremely well thought out. Access through the gated car park, loading area and building is seamless using the Shurgard app, and the whole setup immediately inspires confidence.
A particular mention has to go to Jonathan, who was outstanding. He knew who I was when I arrived, welcomed me personally and took the time to explain everything properly: access hours, security, lifts and how the facility works. He then accompanied me to my unit, showed me how the supplied barrel lock worked and made sure I was completely comfortable before leaving me to unload. Nothing felt rushed and nothing was too much trouble.
I'd arranged my own storage insurance beforehand, which was accepted without any fuss. Jonathan explained the process, had me complete the necessary form and confirmed that the £20 insurance charge I'd initially paid would be credited against my next bill.
The unit itself was exactly what I needed and the entire process was incredibly professional. Secure, straightforward, transparent pricing and genuinely excellent customer service.
After a very poor experience elsewhere immediately before coming to Shurgard, the contrast couldn't have been greater. I arrived slightly wary and left completely confident that I'd chosen the right place.

Booked a unit via the website and first impressions were spot on.
Prices are clearly displayed along with any offers, the insurance requirements are laid out with a clear cost structure.
Visited the site the same day to carry out an ID verification and met Jonathan, lovely chap and a true asset to the company.
Having used storage units many times in the past, it was a breath of fresh air to meet someone who clearly enjoys his role and takes great pride in the Shurguard centre at Bolton.
Jonathan provided an in depth site tour and a clear demonstration of the app used for access.
I have to say although it’s still new, the unit was immaculate. The storage unit offered was clean, tidy and of a very good size for the price.
Highly recommended if you’re in the market for storage space, I can see us keeping this one for the long term.
Bonus points: Costa coffee right next door, good size parking areas and ample size loading bays / lifts.
Decent coffee vending machine would be a welcome addition to the loading area for the future.
