When you rent a unit at Shurgard, you will need to purchase a new, sealed lock for £14.90.
Why do you need a lock for your storage unit
Both the lock and key to your unit are unique. This means you are the only person who has the key for this lock. So no one else can access your storage unit, not even our Shurgard staff.
What kind of lock fits a Shurgard storage unit
Our cylinder locks are specially designed to fit a Shurgard storage unit. They are durable, hard to break and fit your storage door perfectly.
Keep it for next time you store with us
When you move out of your storage unit, please make sure that you have removed and retained the lock.
The lock and the corresponding keys are yours. So you can simply re-use this lock the next time you rent a Shurgard storage unit.
What if you lose the key to your unit
If you lose the key to your unit, you should report it to the on-site manager at your Shurgard location.
As we don't keep a copy of your key, in consultation with you we can have the lock drilled open by a locksmith. The costs for this will be charged to you.
