Yes, the app is a free service to our customers, designed to make your storage experience as convenient and simple as possible.
What do I need to make use of the app?
You will need a smartphone.
Download the Shurgard app to your phone and follow instructions on the screen to set up your access. Make sure to enable Bluetooth. On Android phones, you will also need to enable Location Services.
I don't have a smartphone, can I still access my unit?
Of course! You can still use your access code to enter our premises as you would normally do.
Can the app be set up on more than one phone?
Yes, you can download and set up the app on other phones.
Does the app need cellular data (4G or 5G) to work?
You will need to connect to a Wifi or a cellular data network (4G/5G) to setup your access.
After that, you will only need Bluetooth enabled for the app to work. On Android phones, you will also need to enable Location Services.
I installed the app but the gate won't open. What do I do?
What happens if I forgot my phone?
You can still open the gate and doors by entering your access code in the keypads.
What do I do if my phone is stolen?
To make sure that your access is secured, please enable "Biometric authentication" (finger prints or FaceID) in the app settings.
If you have not done so, please call your Shurgard location so that we can block your access code right away.
What if the gate doesn’t open neither with the app nor with my access code?
Please contact your Shurgard location so we can grant look into this for you.
